I am truly thrilled to be working with you and your children this school year. I believe my true calling is teaching and I put my heart into educating each student right where they are. It's going to be a fun filled year with lots of fantastic adventures. The key to a successful year for everyone is good communication. I am here for you and your child on this educational journey. My goal is to bring as much passion into the classroom so that each day feels like a new adventure for each one of my kiddos.
My vision for this school year is to immerse the students in creative, hands-on, interactive learning opportunities that promote a positive family culture in the classroom. My goal is to foster problem-solving and critical thinking skills that will prepare my students for real-world problems. I will utilize cooperative learning groups, class projects, group projects, whole group and small group learning. It is essential to meet each student where they are. Differentiation in the classroom is crucial for each student to be successful! No matter what obstacle comes our way this year, it will be conquered together!
Meet the Davis Family
I have been happily married to my wonderful husband Tyrone for 9 years now. We have two amazing children, Makiyah (19) and Caleb (7). Family is precious to me and I enjoy spending all the time I can with them. We enjoy cooking out, fishing, going to the park, going to the movies, eating out and visiting family and friends.
A Little About my Background
I am a graduate of the University of Mississippi. I received my Bachelor's degree in Special Education K-12. I have taught at MAE for 11 years now. I taught Special Education K-2 at MAE for 8 years. I was awarded MAE Teacher of the Year for the 20-21 School Year! During the 21-22 school year, I taught 2nd grade at MAE. It was a magical and very rewarding year! I love teaching all the kids, meeting kids where they are, and watching them blossom into life-long learners. This will be my third year teaching 1st grade at MAE. Teaching kids to read is a passion of mine and 1st grade is a huge milestone in their reading journey. I am ready to immerse myself in all the treasures of 1st grade at MAE!
