    About the Teacher

Born and raised in Holmes County, I was the 1998 valedictorian of S.V. Marshall High School. I originally attended Mississippi State University, but transferred my junior year to Mississippi College. There I completed my degree in 2004 (B.S. Biological Science). I also have acquired additional science master's level studies from Jackson State University (Microbiology 2004-2006) and am a 2011 graduate of the University of Phoenix (M.A.T. /Secondary Education). This will be my 7th year teaching at GHS. I'm very proud to have received the Germantown Key of Excellence in Math & Science award for the 2014-2015 School Year, STAR Teacher award for 2016-2017, GHS Teacher of the Year 2017-2018, and I have been nominated for the Presidential Award of Excellence in Math & Science Teaching for the 2018-2019 cycle! I currectly serve as the Science Department Chair and am certified through College Board in advance placement biology and advance placement chemistry. I also hold a laboratory safety certification from Flinn Scientific.
