     Welcome to 3rd Grade!

My name is Diane Anthony, and I am absolutely thrilled to be your child's 3rd grade teacher at Highland Elementary!   We are going to have a wonderful year as we ,work together to help your child be as successful as possible  I am very excited about starting my 7th year at Highland Elementary! This is my 39th year teaching, and I still truly love what I do!

I was born and raised in Louisiana. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Masters in Elementary Reading from Southeastern Louisiana University, I taught 10 years in Louisiana. My family and I then moved to Brandon, Mississippi.  I  began teaching in the Jackson Public School District where I taught  2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades for 22 1/2 years.

My husband, Jeff,  and I have been married for 37 years.  We have 3 wonderful grown children, Kayla (a graduate of Milsaps and Mississippi College;  married  to Perry;  parents to my precious  granddaughters, Hadley and Harper), Brent (a graduate of Mississippi State;  married to Meagan; parents to my precious grandsons Webb and Wynn), and Matt ( a graduate of University of Mississippi and Mississippi College School of Law);  married to Anna-Miles .

I look forward to getting to know each of you this year. I will keep you informed of your child's progress through his/her assignment pad, weekly graded papers, phone calls, emails, DoJo or Remind.  Communication is very important, and I feel that working together, we will have a successful year!
