Welcome to Madison Avenue Upper Elementary! I am honored to serve you as the principal of M.A.U.E.!
As the principal of Madison Avenue Upper Elementary, I will strive to provide a safe and positive environment that is conducive to learning for all students. Our teachers will grow ALL learners by implementing differentiated instruction in every classroom. We will provide students with a learning environment that engages students in challenging and rewarding instructional activities. Our teachers will be provided professional development opportunities, resources, information, and constructive feedback in a positive working environment so that they will have what they need to do the best job possible! I will also support parents and guardians of our students by providing parent training opportunities and by sharing resources both in and outside the school when needed.
It has been my privilege to have worked at the elementary, middle and high school levels for the past 26 years in both instructional and administrative positions. I have certification in elementary education, general sciences, educational leadership, and I was also a National Board Certified Teacher. I received my bachelor's degree and master's degree from the University of West Florida, in Pensacola, FL. I received my specialist degree and Doctorate in Educational Leadership from William Carey University. I began my educational career in Santa Rosa County, Florida and then moved to Mississippi fifteen years ago. I am honored to be the principal serving M.A.U.E.! I am married to Sean Brewer and we have 3 children; Abney, Macey, & Hayden and a dog named Hash Brown. My family and I are proud to call Mississippi our home!
I am excited about the upcoming academic year! We have several surprises in store! Our theme for this year is.....
BACK TO THE FUTURE! (We will be traveling through time to learn from our past to shape our future!)
Our students need to be ready to problem solve and eliminate all challenges that will be set before them & must display the following traits: Character - students must display honesty, respectfulness, and must always be on their best behavior Attendance - you have to be here to learn! (And be here on time!) Problem Solver - be ready to face new challenges and take your thinking to the next level Great Attitude - A positive attitude is a must!
We look forward to an amazing 2022-2023 academic year!
Sincerely,
Dr. Kim Brewer, Principal & Time Traveler Go Jags!
