Dear Parents,

 

Let me welcome you and your child to another exciting year of learning!  I will be your child's third grade Language Arts teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. I have been an educator for over 20 years and have taught in the Madison County School District for the last 13 years. I have a Bachelor's and Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Jackson State University. 

 

Third grade is an exciting time as children embark upon new adventures in the world of learning. This is a year of important transitions, as well as one in which acquisition of new skills is accelerated. Parents, as well as children, may have some apprehensions about what will happen, but it is extremely important to keep in mind that we will all build on small successes. Each child will progress at his/her own rate, acquiring skills, as he/she is developmentally ready. As always, maintaining  each child's self-esteem and building a secure foundation for future growth will remain a priority in my third grade classroom.
