• Welcome MCHS Choir Students and Parents!
My name is Max Lyall, and I am the director of Choral Activities for Madison Central and Rosa Scott.  This is my 13th year as a teacher and my 11th as a Jaguar.  I grew up in Clinton where I was a member of the Attaché Show Choir as well as the school band.  Before becoming a school teacher, I had careers in radio (yes, it's as fun as it sounds) and insurance sales (yes, it's as dull as it sounds). I studied voice, percussion, piano, and guitar at USM and Mississippi College where I earned a bachelor's degree in church music. I am certified in K-12 Vocal Music and Instrumental Music as well as high school social studies (it should scare you that I could be teaching Psychology to your child). I direct the Mixed Mass Choir for MCHS and RSHS as well as the Radiance and Reveille Show Choirs and show choir band. I am also the music director/conductor for our school musicals. I love what I do! Outside of school, I enjoy woodworking, golf, and St. Louis Blues Hockey!!! My wife is an Instructional Specialist at Highland Elementary School in the Titan Zone, and we have three grown sons who have all been a part of the choral program at Madison Central. If you have questions, concerns, or needs, please don't hesitate to contact me via email at mlyall@madison-schools.com or telephone at 601-853-2047. Our word for the start of this year is "flexibility" as we are still navigating these strange tides, but we have high hopes that this will be the best year ever at MC and Rosa! Stay Positive!!!
