I was born in Canton, MS and went to school at Canton Academy K-12.  My childhood experience in my small school was wonderful, so I furthered my education at Delta State University where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education with a minor in English.  I feel strongly that attending Delta State completely prepared me to be a teacher.
My first teaching experience was at Madison Station Elementary where I taught 4th grade for 3 years.  I then moved to Corinth, MS and taught for 2 years (3rd and 4th grade).  I was drawn back to Madison mostly by the excellent school system.  I taught at Madison Station again for 3 more years and jumped at the chance to work for Mrs. Dee Walsh at Mannsdale for  2 years .   I later followed Mrs. Walsh to Madison Middle School where I feel that I've found my true calling.  This is my 12th year here (22 years total), and I'm ecstatic to be at Madison Middle School teaching the subject that I love-Language Arts.
I have a wonderful husband, Nathan, and a 16 year old son, Braxton, who is in the 10th grade at Madison Central High School.  God has blessed us so much!   I can truly say that IT'S A GREAT DAY TO BE A JAGUAR!
