    Welcome to Mrs.Peters' Class
    Room P6

    Mrs. Peters' Class
My name is Amy Peters, and I am so excited to be teaching Learning Strategies at Madison Middle School. More importantly, I am thrilled to be your teacher!  I am ready to get to know each and every one of you, but first let me tell you a little about myself :)
I was born in Natchez, Mississippi on July 10, 1975. I grew up in Natchez and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1993. I began college at USM but transferred to LSU in 1994. I graduated from LSU in 1997! I am a HUGE tiger fan--some say that I "bleed purple and gold!" I cannot wait until football season so I can watch my tigers dominate! I am married to my best friend, Ryan, and we have 3 beautiful children. Our daughter, Colby, is a Senior at Madison Central where she is a member of the Mystix Dance Team. Our son, Layne, is a Sophomore at Madison Central, and he loves everything about LSU sports. Our youngest daughter, Presley, is 8 years old, and she is a third grader at Madison Station. We make our home in Gluckstadt.
I have been a teacher for the past 21 years. I started out my teaching career in Natchez at Morgantown Elementary School teaching 4th grade for two years and 3rd grade for one year. I then moved to Ridgeland and taught 6th grade math at Velma Jackson Middle School for a year. After that, I taught both 4th and 5th grade at East Flora Elementary for ten years before moving to Madison Middle School seven years ago. I love being a teacher because you never stop learning.
I have many exciting things planned this year, and I can't wait to get started. I look forward to meeting you on August 9, and I hope you are as excited as I am about this school year!
