    Accelerated Reader Program

Accelerated Reader (AR) is a computer program designed to create excitement for reading and to continually guide students to books that will maximize growth.   The student is tested on STAR to assign an individualized reading range represented by a COLOR DOT on each AR book.  After selecting and reading an appropriate level book, students take a quiz on a school computer.  They will accumulate points based on personal goals.  First and Second Grade begins after Labor Day.
    Kindergarten officially begins in January.

Students reaching their personal goals will attend a special secret event at the end of each nine weeks!

This year our theme is "DESTINATION USA".  Students in each class will combine their points which will equal miles that they will pretend to travel in the USA.  We will prepare a display board to represent the location after research and exploration!
