         DRIVERS EDUCATION
                              2018-2019               
          
    ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE RECEIVED THEIR LEARNER'S PERMIT BY THE TIME PROGRESS REPORTS ARE ISSUED DURING THE 
    SEMESTER THAT THEY ARE ENROLLED IN DRIVERS' EDUCATION.
     
     
    WE WILL MEET IN THE TEAM ROOM OF THE FIELDHOUSE. 
     
    REQUIREMENTS: 
    1. 30 HOURS CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION 
    2. 12 HOURS SIMULATOR INSTRUCTION 
    3. 3  HOURS DRIVING INSTRUCTION (DRIVERS PERMIT)
     
    STEPS TO RECEIVE A LEARNER'S PERMIT: 
    1. COMPLETE APPLICATION (MHP) 
    2. CERTIFIED COPY OF BIRTH CERTIFICATE 
    3. SOCIAL SECURITY CARD 
    4. EDUCATION FORM FROM THE FRONT OFFICE (GOOD FOR 30 DAYS) 
    5. TWO FORMS OF SHOWING PROOF OF RESIDENCE (BILLS WITH CURRENT ADDRESS SHOWING)
     
    *** ATTENTION *** - STUDENT MUST HAVE LEARNER'S PERMIT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DRIVING INSTRUCTION.
     
    HOW DOES THE GRADING WORK FOR THE CLASSROOM PORTION OF DRIVERS' EDUCATION? 
    - TESTS = 60% 
    - DAILY WORK/CLASSWORK = 30%
    - VIDEO/SPEAKERS = 10% 
     
    STUDENTS THAT DO NOT HAVE THEIR PERMIT AT THE END OF THE CLASSROOM PORTION OF THIS CLASS 
    WILL BE PLACED IN A STUDY HALL FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SEMESTER AND WILL RECIEVE A GRADE
    FOR THAT STUDY HALL. THEY WILL NOT RECEIVE CREDIT FOR DRIVERS EDUCATION. 
     
    DRIVERS EDUCATION IS A SEMESTER COURSE, PLEASE CHECK HANDBOOK REGARDING ABSENCES.
