Germantown High School Senior Beta Club

The National Beta Club is a student honor society based on high academic achievement, excellent character, and good citizenship. The purpose of the National Beta Club is to promote “the ideals of honesty, service, morality, ethical conduct, and leadership among secondary school students, to reward meritorious achievement, and to encourage and assist students in continuing their education after high school.”

The requirements for this service club are that students have a minimum grade of 90 in all their classes and maintain good personal character.  The GHS Beta Club is a valuable service to those in need and will help organize and raise money for various organizations.  Students will also participate in service ministries throughout the year.  National Beta Club is also valuable documentation for college applications and also gives away 250,000 dollars worth of college scholarships to participating seniors each year. The National Beta Club promotes character, develops leadership skills, encourages service involvement, and recognizes achievement to students in high school.  With its motto of "Let us lead by serving others," members of Beta Club at GHS will be expected to maintain character qualities of integrity and humility as they strive to lead as servants.  The sponsor for this club is Mrs. Farrington.

    Are there any dues/payments?

Yes. There is a one-time fee of $30.00 collected for both the local and National Beta Club dues. Returning members pay $15 annually.

How will I know I have been accepted into the Beta Club?

Students will pick up an application when it is announced. Once the applications are submitted and checked, invitations will be given to all students that qualify for membership.

How many service hours will students be required to obtain?

Students will be required to get documentation of 12 service hours for the year. These hours may be gained by working at various volunteer opportunities in the community and here at school. Two service projects must be with the Beta Club.
