Welcome to the Mannsdale Media Center's webpage!  The Mannsdale library collection currently hosts approximately 14,000 books, DVDs, eBooks and more.  Our library system is monitored using an automated search system with a catalog feature to search for needed materials.  The Mannsdale card catalog and circulation system is automated through Follett Destiny software.  The media center is equipped with a classroom set of iPads for student use. Our mission is to promote an interest in reading of all kinds and to provide a climate supporting research and literary appreciation.  We have a Promethean board in our library in order to expose our students to the latest technology during their library visit.  Students visit the library at least once a week to check out a book, participate in a reading lesson, and participate in an active read-aloud. This active read aloud time includes puppet shows, drama, music, or a visual arts lesson.  The Mannsdale library is a "kid-friendly" place decorated with children's artwork in an effort to provide a haven where students can develop a love of reading.  We have also incorporated a makerspace into our library.  This is designed to inspire creativity and hands-on learning.  The makerspace is full of materials like Legos, magnetic tiles, marbles, PlusPlus blocks, pixel foam arts, and other supplies that inspire creativity.  This innovative space is equipped with tools and materials for building, crafting, and experimenting, fostering collaboration and problem-solving skills among young learners. From robotics kits to art supplies, makerspace empowers students to explore their interests, develop new skills, and bring their imaginative ideas to life.
