Mrs. Box FIRST GRADE
Hi! My name is Mrs. Box, and I am so excited to be part of the Ann Smith Elementary team! More importantly, I am THRILLED to be your teacher! It’s going to be a fun year full of lots of learning and new adventures and I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us. I want to know ALL about you, but first I’m going to tell you a few things about me. This is my eleventh year teaching first grade at Ann Smith. I was named teacher of the year at Ann Smith Elementary for the 2011-2012 school year. I have always lived in Madison County and I attended Madison County schools (in fact I went to Kindergarten at Ann Smith). I received a degree in elementary education from Mississippi College. I have been married to my husband, Adam, for 8 years. We have a precious little boy, Reese, who is almost five. In my spare time I enjoy playing and snuggling with Reese, reading, cooking, gardening, going to MSU football games, and spending time with family.
I believe that all children can learn. As an educator, it is my responsibility to teach children in such a way that they will be successful. I will provide a learning environment that is not only safe and positive but also, promotes positive self-esteem. My lessons and teaching styles take into account the differences among learners and their unique learning styles. My class list includes the best children at Ann Smith Elementary and I will expect the best from them! It is my goal to instill a love of learning that will last throughout your child’s life.
