    Rigby                            Welcome to Third Grade!

Third grade is such an exciting year! We are on the "Big Kid" side of the school so get ready for lots of new and fun experiences! The third grade curriculum includes learning multiplication tables, fractions, cursive writing and we love to read, read, read!

This is my 25th year to teach and all of my years have been at Madison Station - it's my second home! My husband, Jim, and I have lived in Madison for over 30 years and have two grown daughters. Both daughters and their families live in the area, so we are able to enjoy our two grandchildren all the time.

I look forward to the opportunity of getting to know all of you! Thank you for the opportunity to teach your precious children!

    Welcome to Third Grade!

My name is Marae Rigby and I am so excited that you are a part of our Madison Station family!  There is so much for us to learn in third grade!

    All About Me

This is my 24th year to teach - all of them have been at Madison Station!  I have two grown children who are both graduates of Madison County schools and of Mississippi State University.  My husband, Jim, and I have lived in Madison for, well, since it was a small town - 34 years!  I look forward to an exciting and successful year with you and your children!

A large part of our third grade curriculum requires that students are FLUENT in multiplication facts. Please practice these facts at home with your child! They will be using this knowledge from now on in their education and knowing them fluently will help them immensely! We will be spending a lot of time on fractions this year too. Cursive writing is a big, fun thing that we will learn this year! The children are always so excited to learn this new form of writing and I hope that you'll encourage practice

I feel so blessed to be a part of your child's third grade year and I'm looking forward to getting to know them and you!  It's going to be a fun-filled year full of new learning experiences!
