Guest speakers joined Madison County Schools to share their expertise and personal experiences to help safeguard children and youth from online dangers. Mississippi Coalition Against Human Trafficking
Amanda Dollar and Sarah Young

The Mississippi Coalition Against Human Trafficking is actively engaged in the fight against human trafficking, providing information and resources to help prevent trafficking. Director of Survivor Support Amanda Dollar has experience working as a human trafficking certified victim advocate directly serving human trafficking survivors throughout Mississippi. She is considered a subject matter expert on human trafficking, and she is a lived experience expert in childhood abuse. She helped form and coordinate the Northwest MS Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force. Sarah Young serves as the survivor support specialist at the MCAHT. Mrs. Young has hands-on experience working with victims of human trafficking and holds a degree in criminal justice.  Click here to the view the presentation.

A Father’s Warning: Walker’s Story

Mr. Montgomery shares his family’s personal experience with online predation. An online sextortion scheme led to his son Walker’s tragic suicide at the age of 16. The Montgomery family has been instrumental in the passage of two bills in Mississippi aimed at protecting kids: Walker's Bill (Mississippi House Bill 1196) and the Walker Montgomery Protecting Children Online Act (Mississippi House Bill 2531).   Click here to view the presentation.
