• Dear ASE families,

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year. Our theme this year is Capturing Kids' Hearts. We believe if you have a child's heart, you have access to their mind. Our goal is to develop a meaningful relationship with each child at ASE so they are eager to learn from us each and every day.
We are looking forward to seeing all the students on Monday, August 7th 3:00-5:00 p.m. for our Meet the Teacher event. At Meet the Teacher you will be able to meet your child's teacher, learn important back to school information, drop of all supplies and turn in your child's book log and work packet.
Students are expected to complete summer reading and summer work packets each summer. Entering K students are expected to read 50 books and log them on the 50-Book Challenge book log that is attached to the supply lists. You may log any book that is read to, with or by the student. Entering 1st graders and 2nd graders are expected to complete the summer work packet AND read 100 books and log them on the 100-Book Challenge Log. Again, these books may be read to, with or by students. Students reading longer chapter books may count each chapter as 1 book. Students may also log any MyON books they read. Please contact us if your student has forgotten their MyON user name or password. All students that complete the summer reading and work packet requirements will attend a Back to School Bash that will be held at school on Friday, August 18th. Please turn in the work packets and the book logs on or before Friday, August 11th.
Please mark your calendars for our annual Back-to-School picnic on Saturday, August 12th 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. This will be held on our school playground and is open to anyone in our community. Please bring a blanket or bag chairs and a picnic dinner for your family. This is a great opportunity to meet new families and visit with old friends.
We also ask that you make plans to attend our Back-to-School night at 5:30 on Tuesday, August 22nd. You will have another opportunity to visit your child's classroom and will gain more specific information about the 2017-2018 school year.
We are so happy to have you here with us at ASE. As always, please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. You are always welcome at our school, and we appreciate all of your support.
