• Jones Named Principal of Madison Middle School

    Madison County Schools is proud to announce Dr. Douglas Jones as the next principal of Madison Middle School. Dr. Jones is a familiar face at the school, having served as an assistant principal there since 2016.

    “I am thrilled and honored to be chosen to serve as Madison Middle School’s lead principal,” says Jones.

    “Dr. Jones is a perfect fit to lead Madison Middle,” says Madison County Schools Superintendent Charlotte Seals, “Dr. Jones is well respected as a leader by the faculty, staff, and students, and he is fully committed to building on the tradition of excellence in academics, athletics, and the arts.”

    Dr. Jones is a lifelong learner, having earned numerous advanced degrees throughout his career, culminating in his Ed.D in Educational Leadership in 2018. He began working as an educator in 2006 and has served as a teacher, coach, and assistant principal.

    “When I began teaching in Madison County in 2006, I knew that this was a place where not only students were successful, but also where school spirit, community, and family were valued,” says Jones, “I believe the profession of lead principal is truly based in service. My plans include growing and developing students in the Jag Zone to meet and exceed the caliber of excellence we are accustomed to in Madison County. It is my goal for the Madison Middle Jaguar family to be built on the cooperation of teachers, parents, and students working in one accord.”

    Madison Middle is home to grades six through eight in the Madison Zone of Madison County Schools, providing students with a nurturing environment to learn and grow under the care of dedicated faculty. Students at Madison Middle have the opportunity to participate in a variety of academic subjects, competitive athletic teams, visual arts, choir, band, chess, robotics, as well as creative dramatics and more.

    Dr. Jones and his wife Hallie are proud parents to two Jaguar students, Bryce and Charlie. He will begin serving as principal of Madison Middle School on July 1, 2022.
