There are changes coming to Madison County Schools (MCS) breakfast and/or lunch. The USDA has ended the pandemic free breakfast & lunch programs. The USDA waivers that allowed MCS to offer meals free of charge to all students through the Covid pandemic period expired June 30th. This means that MCS will return to normal operating procedures and begin accepting school meal application forms (aka: free & reduced meal applications) beginning on July 1. These application forms will determine whether a student is eligible for Paid, Free or Reduced-priced meals. Only one application is required per household please. But don’t worry, MCS has made it easy for you to fill out the school meals app. Just head over to the district website and follow the MySchoolApps link. The school meals app is now electronic and easy to fill out on any computer or cellular device. If you don’t have a computer, contact your school or district offices and they will have a paper application available. The application portal opens on July 1. Don’t pass up the opportunity on getting ahead on planning your students' 22/23 school year.
Students who are not eligible for Free meals should be prepared to pay for meals beginning with the first day of school, if they plan to eat a school meal.
School Lunch prices are:
- $3.50 for a Full Paid Students
- 40 cents for a Reduced Price Students
