    Want to join?

    • Tell your counselor you are interested in joining the academy 
    • The first class in the academy is Intro to Engineering Design taught at both Rosa Scott & Madison Central
    • You must have successfully completed Biology I and suggest that you have completed Algebra I before taking the first course

    • Monday, Feb. 10 @ 6pm: Parent Night at Rosa Scott for rising Freshmen (Rosa Scott Cafeteria/Gym)
    • Tuesday, Feb. 25 @ 5:30 pm:  Parent Night at Madison Central for rising Sophomores (MCHS Cafeteria/Gym)
    • Thursday, April 10 @ 6:00 PM:  2025 Annual Academy of Engineering Showcase (MCHS Cafeteria)

    SKILLS YOU WILL MOST LIKELY NEED AS AN ENGINEERING STUDENT IN COLLEGE:
    • Technical Writing Skills (APA Style)
    • Mechanical Skills/Measurement
    • Programming
    • Excel for Statistical Analysis and more
    • Technical Presentation Skills / Public Speaking
    • Sketching Engineering Drawings - 3D modeling (CAD)
    • Data Collection, Analysis, and Error Analysis

     

    BENEFITS OF THIS PROGRAM:
    • Possible Scholarships
    • Principles of Engineering and Engineering Design and Development courses count as a Science or Advanced Elective
    • Engineering Electives are weighted
      • 5% for IED, POE, AE, DE & EDD
      • 10% for AP CSP
    • College Prep - Engineering Coursework using Project Lead the Way (PLTW) curriculum
    • Part of a Cohort Study Group
    • Smaller Class Sizes
    • Decide if and/or which STEM-related field suits you
    • Engineering Academy courses only take up one Block
    PRE-REQUISITES for Rising 9th , 10th , 11th or 12th Graders
    • Completed Algebra I 
    • Completed Online Application
