PHOTOGRAPHY STUDENTS: WEEK OF NOVEMBER 13: SUNSET SUNRISE SHOOTING FOR COLOR SCHEMES. ____________ LOCATING THE BEST SUNSET SCENE IS A CHALLENGE THAT MOST PHOTOGRAPHERS ARE LIKELY TO INCUR IF YOU DO NOT PLAN AND MONITOR THE AREA PRIOR TO THE SUN'S DROPPING STAGES. PREPARE THE CAMERA'S SHOOTING MODE TO THOSE SETTINGS THAT WILL DELIVER VIBRANT, DEEP COOL OR WARM DRAMATIC EFECTS. APERTURE AND SHUTTER SPEED PRIORITY MODES ARE THE MOST HELPFUL CAMERA FUNCTIONS THAT WILL ENABLE YOU TO ACHIEVE THOSE EFFECTS. AN INTRODUCTION TO CAPTURING AND PHOTOGRAPHING SUN SETS AND SUNRISE SCENES WILL BE COVERED THROUGH DISCUSSIONS AS STUDENTS SHOULD REMAIN AWARE OF THE RULES FOR SHOOTING, STRATEGIES AND TECHNIQUES ARE CONTINUOSLY USED AND APPLIED AS SUN SETS AND LANDSCAPES ARE VERY MUCH RELATED IN TERMS OF THEIR ELEMENTS OF NATURE AND MEDIUM OF STUDY; FOREGROUND ELEMENTS AND SILHOUETTES SHOULD BE SEARCHED FOR AS WELL AS FINDING OUT WHERE THE SUN WILL SET OR RISE EARLY ON. STUDENTS SHOULD SEARCH FOR DIFFERENT TYPES OF SUNSETS THAT PRODUCE A RANGE OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF LIGHTS AND PATTERNS IN THE SKY. REMEMBER THAT COMPOSITION TECHNIQUES ARE YET IMPORTANT AS IT ALLOWS YOU TO CAPTURE A SWEEPING LANDSCAPE SCENE OR JUST THE SUN ITSELF TO BECOME THE PRIMARY FEATURE INTERFACED BY THE SURROUNDING CLOUDS, THEREFOE WE WILL DISCUSS HOW TO SHOOT AT A VARIETY OF FOCAL LENGTHS. AS ALWAYS, REMEMBER TO SHOOT FOR DIFFERENCES IN COLOR TONES, CONTRASTS AND MANIPULATING VALUES OF LIGHTS AND DARKS. DRAWING I & II CLASSES: A NEW ROTATION FOR THE 2017 2ND SEMESTER. BOTH GROUPS WILL FOCUS ON RENDERING A STILL LIFE COMPOSITION AS THEIR FIRST SKETCHBOOK ASSIGNMENT. LOOK CAREFULLY OVER THE DETAIL POSTING FOR THE DIFFERENCE IN SUBJECT MATTER.....
