    About the Teacher

Hello, my name is Mrs. Vina (Ward) Gowdy, this is my sixth year to teach in the Madison County School District. I was born and raised in the Farmhaven area. I am proud to say I am a 1980 graduate of Velma Jackson High School. This is my 15th year to teach Career and Technology Education classes.  Prior to teaching in MS,  I taught Career and Technology Education courses in Oklahoma.  Prior to being an educator, I worked as a Computer Systems Analyst for a major oil company.  I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from Jackson State University and a Master’s Degree in Adult Education Management and Administration from Northwestern Oklahoma State University, with a specialty area emphasis in Educational Technology.

My goal is to challenge students to embrace technology as a tool to help them become life-long learners.

This year I am the teacher for  the Academy of Multimedia. I am a Technology Student Association (TSA) co-sponsor.
