  • State Testing at Madison County Schools

    Dear Parents,

The state testing period for students in Madison County Schools begins Tuesday, April 17, and continues through the end of the school year. For details concerning your child’s specific test dates, please visit your child’s school’s website.

Doing well on state tests shows that students have the foundational knowledge they need for future success. Please speak to your child about the importance of doing his or her very best.

To prepare your child to do his or her best on these important tests, please follow these tips:

    • Reschedule any doctor or dentist appointments now to avoid testing days
    • Talk to your child about the importance of doing his or her best on the test
    • Ensure a good night’s sleep before test days
    • Eliminate stress
    • Lay out clothes the night before
    • Have supplies ready and in backpack the night before
    • Make sure your child has taken any needed medications
    • Feed your child a high-quality breakfast, including protein and whole grains and avoiding sugary cereals
    • Encourage your child to drink water
    • Send grapes or other healthy snacks on test days
    • Be on time to school

Thank you for helping ensure your child’s best performance on these important assessments.

    Yours in education,

    Dr. Ronnie McGehee
    Superintendent
