  • Class Parties

    Class parties will be held Thursday, December 18.  Kindergarten and First Grade parties will be from 10:30 until 11:15.  Second and Third graders will celebrate from 11:30 until 12:15.  Fourth and Fifth grade parties will be held from 12:30 until 1:15.   Happy Holidays!

  • Congratulations!

    Mannsdale Elementary would like to congratulate two of our staff members.  Kindergarten teacher, Neely Umphlett has been selected as our Teacher of the Year and Janet Olander has been chosen as our Assistant Teacher of the Year for the 2014-2015 school year.

  • Mississippi Blues Fun Run

    We look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday, January 10, 2015 for the Mississippi Blues Marathon Kids' One-Mile Fun Run.  Click here for details about Registration. As a "Get Ready to Run" school participant, you will not pay the registration fee when you sign up early. Please follow the steps to complete your child's online registration, including selecting their school from the drop down menu.  Please email Coach Webb at  jwebb@madison-schools with any questions or if you have trouble completing the registration process.

  • Mannsdale Reading Fair

    The Mannsdale Reading Fair is open to all students in grades K-5. Our fair will be held Friday, January 16.  Please send projects in on January 16 if you are participating. The purpose of the Reading Fair is to promote a love of reading.  Winners from each category will advance to the District Reading Fair on Thursday, January 22 at Germantown High School.   • Character Education

     Our counselors, Kay Weems and Renee Williams, focus on teaching our Mavericks about important character traits each month.  This month our students are learning about responsibility through our core essentials program.

    We have started a new program at Mannsdale where we put one K-2 teacher and one 3-5 teacher in the spotlight each week.  This is where we "spill the beans" about the teachers and get to know them a little better.

    Something people might not know about you: My husband converted me to a State fan while we were dating.  My parents are Ole Miss fans!
    Best advice you ever received: "Family comes first."
    One thing you want people to know about you:  I love my baby girl at home and my kiddos at school!

    Favorite Food:  Anything with cheese!
    Favorite Type of Shoe:  Boots and booties
    Favorite Book:  Sum It Up:  Pat Summitt
    Something people may not know about you:  I play the trumpet. I played four years on the golf team at the University of Mississippi.
    Best advice you ever received:  "Golf is the closest game to the game we call life.  You get bad breaks from good shots.  You get good breaks from bad shots.  But you have to play the ball where it lies.
    One thing you want people to know about you:  If I were not teaching, my dream is to perform in a Broadway musical!

    Something people may not know about you:  I used to sing in a State Choir (gospel).
    Best advice you ever received:  Stay true to you.
    One thing you want everyone to know about you:  I am an only daughter with several brothers.

    Favorite Book:  Cookbooks-especially Giada De Laurentiis
    Something people may not know about you:  When I was in 5th grade, I believed I was a dog!
    Best advice you ever received:  Watch your thoughts, they become your words.  Your words become your actions.  Your actions become your habits.  Your habit becomes your character and your character becomes your destiny!
    One thing you want everyone to know about you:  I love smiles and hugs.

    Christmas Holiday Break
     
    Christmas Holiday break is scheduled for Monday, December 22 through Friday, January 2. Students will report back to school on Monday, January 5.

    Reporting Lost or Stolen Laptop
     
    Students will be allowed to keep their MacBook Air laptops during the Christmas Holiday Break.  Please be aware that we will not be providing technical assistance during this time.  If your laptop is lost or stolen, you will need to contact the police immediately and fill out the Theft Form to report it to school administration.   Parent/guardian will be responsible for full replacement cost of laptop if not reported to MCS personnel within calendar 3 days of missing the device.
