HEROES Mission Possible

Dear M.A.U.E. Parents & Detectives (Students),

Our theme for this year is “Mission Possible!”  We are busy here at Mission Possible Headquarters preparing for our upcoming missions!  I look forward to a year filled with mysteries and problems that must be solved by our detectives (students)!

The word ‘Agents’ has definition meaning to ‘drive, lead, manage, or do’ which a perfect description of our teachers!  The word ‘detectives’ means ‘to uncover’ which describes what our students will be doing all year – uncovering new ideas, skills, and objectives!

As we continue our journey through the last term of the school year, I am reaching out to all parents to ask for your support in a few areas.  This last term is so important and I am asking that parents help us by ensuring that our students are present at school and on time each day.  Instruction begins at 7:30 and being present is essential during this last push before testing!  Teachers are hard at work preparing our students for the upcoming yearly assessments, and we need our students to be present and on time each and every day!

Please mark your calendars for the upcoming assessments:

3rd grade testing schedule:

Thursday, April 20th (MKAS/3Rd grade Reading Gate Assessment/testing on computer)

Wednesday, April 26th (State Writing Assessment/paper-pencil)

Thursday, April 27th (State Math Assessment/testing on computer)

 4th grade testing schedule:

Tuesday, May 2nd (State Reading Assessment/testing on computer)

Wednesday, May 3rd (State Writing Assessment/paper-pencil)

Thursday, May 4th (State Math Assessment/testing on computer)

 5th grade testing schedule:

Tuesday, April 25th (State Reading Assessment/testing on computer)

Wednesday, April 26th (State Writing Assessment/paper-pencil)

Thursday, April 27th (State Math Assessment/testing on computer)

Tuesday, May 9th (State Science Assessment/testing on computer)

Again, I want to stress the importance of students being on time and present every day during this 4th term!  It is so important that your child is participating in classroom instruction.  The teachers are covering the remaining objectives of the curriculum and reviewing prior objectives so that our students will be successful on their assessments.

I’m so proud of the accomplishments that our students have made this year!  I know that they will be successful on the state assessments!  I appreciate your support as we work together to finish strong!

Sincerely,

 Kim Hurst, Principal
