Teacher Employment

When a vacancy occurs, the building principals will review the data base of eligible applicants. He/she may interview and recommend an applicant for employment to the Office of Personnel. The Superintendent and Board must approve all recommendations for employment prior to issuance of a contract.

Before a contract is issued to prospective teachers, the following documents must be on file: completed state and federal tax forms, completed state retirement forms, completed insurance forms, copy of certified license, copy of college transcript, background check and fingerprint information, copy of social security card and drivers license.

A letter of interest and resume' must be submitted for each position posted. Interviews are scheduled by the Office of Personnel.

The Superintendent and Board must approve all recommendations for employment prior to issuance of a contract.

Before a contract is issued to a prospective administrator, the following documents must be on file: completed state and federal tax forms, completed state retirement forms, completed insurance forms, copy of certified license, copy of college transcript, background check and fingerprint information, copy of social security card and drivers license.
 

Substitute Teacher Employment

Obtain an application packet from the school from which you desire to substitute teach. Schedule an appointment with the Principal for a screening/interview. Turn in the completed application packet to the Principal at the interview.

Principal will submit all paperwork for qualified applicants to the Office of Personnel. The Superintendent will then submit the recommendation to the School Board for approval.

Once Board approved, you are eligible to substitute teach at any school in the Madison County School District. It is the responsibility of the individual to forward contact information to the schools in which they wish to work in as a substitute teacher.

Substitute teachers are at-will employees and are called to work on an as needed basis. The rate of pay for a substitute teacher is $50.00 per day. The rate of pay for Certified substitute teachers is $70.00 per day. The pay period runs generally from the 16th of the present month through the 15th of the next month.
 

Food Service Employment

Applications can be picked up at the Madison County School District Office of Child Nutrition. The Office of Child Nutrition can mail applications and interview times can also be set up by contacting the Child Nutrition Secretary at 601-879-3080.

Interviews are set up as openings become available. Bring completed application packets with a copy of Driver License and Social Security Card to the interview. All interviews are held at the Madison County School District Central Office. Qualified applicants are submitted to the Office of Personnel. The Superintendent will then submit the recommendation to the School Board for approval.
 

School Support Staff Employment

Obtain an application from the School in which you wish to work. Schedule an appointment with the Principal and return the completed application packet with two forms of identification at the time of the appointment to the Principal.

County Maintenance Staff Employment

Obtain an application packet from the Madison County School Central Office. Schedule an appointment by calling Roxie Williams at 601.879.3075. Bring your completed application packet and two forms of identification with you to the interview.

When a vacancy occurs, Mr. Reed, will review the list of eligible applicants. He may interview and recommend an applicant for employment to the Office of Personnel. The Superintendent and Board must approve all recommendations for employment.
