Welcome to Madison Avenue Upper Elementary! I am honored to introduce myself as the principal of M.A.U.E.! I look forward to serving you this school year.
As the principal of Madison Avenue Upper Elementary, I will strive to provide a safe and positive environment that is conducive to learning for all students. Our teachers will grow ALL learners by implementing differentiated instruction in every classroom. We will provide students with a learning environment that engages students in challenging and rewarding instructional activities. Our teachers will be provided professional development opportunities, resources, information, and constructive feedback in a positive working environment so that they will have what they need to do the best job possible! I will also support parents and guardians of our students by providing parent training opportunities and by sharing resources both in and outside the school when needed.
It has been my privilege to have worked at the elementary, middle and high school levels for the past 16 years. I have certification in elementary education, general sciences, educational leadership, and I am a National Board Certified Teacher. I began my educational career in Florida and then moved to Madison, Mississippi four years ago. My first job in Madison County was as a fourth grade teacher at East Flora Elementary. I then enjoyed serving all of our 7 high schools the past three years as our district's High School At-Risk Strategist. I also served our district as the National Board Mentoring Program Coordinator. My husband, Doug, and I have a precious son, Hayden, and a spunky Maltese puppy named Q-tip.
I look forward to getting to know each of you, and I am excited about the upcoming academic year! I am honored to serve you as your principal and I want to lead M.A.U.E. with heart, enthusiasm, and most importantly, with purpose!
