This is the seventh year for the Ridgeland High School Forensic Team. The team competes in 10 - 12 tournaments in the state over the course of the year. We also compete in two national competitions. First we compete with the National Catholic Forensic League, where we have had octafinalists, quarterfinalists, and semifinalists. And the National Forensic League where we have had double octafinalists and octafinalists in supplemental events.
The team has won 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in team sweepstakes consistently over the past 4 years. We most recently won 2nd place in team sweepstakes at the Mississippi High School Activities Association Speech and Debate State Championship. The team has won 9 individual state championship titles in: Prose Interpretation (2), Poetry Interpretation (2), Humorous Interpretation, Storytelling, Extemporaneous Speaking, and Lincoln Douglas Debate (2). We have also had 2 National Forensic League Academic All Americans.
We compete in speech events, acting events, debate, and congress throughout the year.

This is also the first year to have a Mock Trial Team. Students will study a case that is provided by the Mississippi Bar Association in October for competitions that will begin in February.
