Madison Avenue Elementary The Lewis Ledger Week of Feb. 4, 2013 Accelerated Reader Let’s keep reading. The middle of this week marks the middle of the third nine weeks. Your child should be half way to their goal by then. Please continue to encourage them to read and take their AR tests. Fairy Tale Ball We begin our unit on Fairy Tales this week. Please remember we will have our Fairy Tale Ball on February 15th. Your child should come dressed as their favorite fairy tale character. See attachment. Valentine Boxes We will be exchanging Valentine’s in class on Friday, Feb. 15th. Each student will bring in a decorated box in which the valentine’s will be placed. Boxes are to be decorated at home. Please be sure the opening on the box is large enough and that the boxes can hold about 26 Valentines. The boxes can be decorated for Valentine’s Day OR ( since this is during our Fairy Tale unit) you can make a Castle Valentine box. I have attached information on how to make a castle box if you wish. You can also “google” valentine castle mailboxes. I will send home a class list for Valentine’s next week. Signed Papers Please be sure that you are going over any problems and questions that your child got incorrect on their weekly tests.
