Welcome 7th and 8th grade parents and students!

My name is Scottie Jackson, and I am excited to be your child's U.S. History/Eastern Hemisphere teacher.

My husband and I live with our dog Rudy in Madison.  I have three children and seven beautiful, brilliant grandchildren.  Some of you may know my daughter, Jennifer Monk, whose three children attend Madison schools (2 at Station and Sara Jane here at MMS).  My oldest daughter is Lori-Lynne Cooke and she and her husband run Timbercreek Camp in Pulaski.  You may know them through Breakthrough.  She has three boys, and they attend East Rankin Academy.  Ray-Scott Miller, my son, his wife, and baby daughter live in Madison.

I am originally from Orlando, Florida and am a Gator.  I have taught pretty much everything but math from fourth to eighth grade in Jackson Public Schools, Pearl, and now, I'm enjoying my fifth year here at MMS.  My first three years here were as a 6th grade reading teacher and taught 7th and 8th grade social studies last year.  I feel very blessed to be here and have the opportunity to teach your children.

I look forward to getting to know you better throughout the year.  Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or anything you can share to make this your child's best year ever.
