Welcome to 8th Grade Language Arts!

I am so excited to be teaching 8th Grade Language Arts here at Germantown Middle School!  I would like to extend my warmest welcome to you and your child into our classroom.  In this class we will be reading short stories, 3 novels, and poetry to explore story elements, figurative language, vocabulary, genre, and many more reading elements and skills.  In class we will be reading together and individually and moving on to open class discussions about our material.  Grades will come from homework, daily grades, tests, quizzes, journal entries and their progress in Accelerated Reading (AR).  Homework and upcoming assignment dates can be found in the section to the left titled Homework Blog.

I believe that learning and reading can be fun and I plan to encourage and equip my students to further and strengthen their education.  I am very excited to get to know my new students and help them in any way that I can!  Please contact me if I can be of help to you as you work with your student to support them in their education.
