jshirley@madison-schools.com(601) 859-0376 -CONGRATULATIONS to cast and crew of "After Hours"! Your hard work made our production a success!! You asked for it and you got it!This year we will begin a journey that will engage your body and mind, challenge your perception of yourself and others, increase your confidence and comfort in front of an audience and in social situations, enhance your ability to empathize with others, and spark your imagination. And we’ll accomplish all of this while having FUN! About the Teacher I am Jolyne Shirley, a teacher, director, and professional actor. I studied acting at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City where I graduated with honors. I also have a B.S. in Elementary Education from Jackson State University. I have performed at Lincoln Center as well as off-Broadway and in regional theatres. My latest performance was in December 2011 as Miss Hannigan at New Stage’s “ANNIE”. My credits include local voice-overs and commercials. I am the founder of Creator Theatre (recently directing “THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (ABRIDGED”), Jo-Re-Mi Musikgarten (early childhood music and movement classes), and the Creator Children’s Choir. I am truly looking forward to teaching drama at Germantown Middle School and am excited about our year together!
