Mr. James Crockerjcrocker@madison-schools.comWelcome to Mr. Crocker's Webpage!About the Teacher James Crocker holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree and a Master of Music Education degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. Originally from Theodore, Alabama, he has performed as a member of the Southern Miss Wind Ensemble, The Pride of Mississippi Marching Band, Southern Miss Pep Bands, the Southern Miss Symphony Orchestra, and Southern Miss Jazz Lab II, among other ensembles. He served as principal trumpet player of the Wind Ensemble and the Symphony Orchestra during his undergraduate career. He has studied trumpet performance under Dr. Daniel Kelly and Dr. Jason Bergman. Mr. Crocker has acquired teaching experience as a student teacher in the Oak Grove and Petal band programs and as a band camp instructor at schools such as Foley High School, Theodore High School, and Gulfport High School. Mr. Crocker was also on staff with The Pride of Mississippi as a graduate assistant while completing his master’s degree and has studied conducting with Dr. Steven Moser and Dr. Thomas V. Fraschillo. Mr. Crocker still performs on a fairly regular basis. Recently, he has performed with the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet, and is the principal trumpet player in the Mississippi Symphonic Winds. He currently lives in Gluckstadt, MS with his wife, Lori.
